Intensive day course for a comprehensive introduction to the historical analogue fine printing technique of cyanotype.
For UV exposure, we work in the course with our entry-level UV exposure kit, as well as with the professional JOBO Artisan LED UV exposure unit.
Together we create cyanotypes on paper as well as on fabric (jute bags).
A selection of photographic images and objects are available.
You are welcome to bring your own images and objects.
Course schedule
- Introduction to technology and history, discussion of example images
- Preparation of the chemistry
- Coating of paper
- Demonstration of an exposure
- Exposing and developing your own cyanotypes
- Bleaching and toning of cyanotypes
- Cyanotype on fabric (1 jute bag per participant)
