Chemically neutral, acid-free cardboard with 190g / sqm basis weight.
Coated with pure white barium sulphate emulsion (baryte). Suitable for coating with liquid photographic emulsion or, to a somewhat limited extent, for alternative photographic processes.
The barium sulfate coating enables brilliantly bright whites and prevents the coating medium from penetrating and running into the substrate.
This results in high sharpness in colored solutions.
Consumption is reduced with photographic emulsions. The special surface coating makes it easier for the emulsion or colors to adhere.
tips
- Ideal for uncomplicated use with liquid photo emulsion.
- Also suitable to a limited extent for cyanotypes or argyrotypes. This paper produces a glossy surface, which is otherwise rather unusual for fine printing processes.
- However, it does not work so well with Solarfast paints.
